Are you in the process of looking for the right primary school for your reception-aged child?

We are open for tours, please contact the office. For further information, see our admissions page.

Our After School Club runs everyday from 3.15pm until 6pm.

The club is supervised by members of staff from our school. The children receive healthy snacks and drinks and are involved in a range of exciting activities.

Pupils throughout the school have consistently good attitudes to learning and they work hard. They respect their teachers highly and say that learning is exciting.

Staff have responded positively to the much higher expectations and were quick to tell the inspector about their pride in working at Cogenhoe and about the successes they are achieving together.

Pupils wear their uniform with pride and are very supportive of each other.

Year Four: November 2023

November 30, 2023
Year Four

There is a great deal of excitement about the coming week and all the activities that we have planned across the school and in Year 4.

On Tuesday 14th November, we have the Grand Opening of our Forest School provision and the amazing Mrs Minney has been working hard to make this a spectacular success. We are lucky enough to be having our sessions this term and I will continue to email the class regarding any clothing requirements, to ensure the notification does not get missed. With that in mind, please ensure your child brings their wellies and any other clothing they may need on Monday 13th November, as well as Tuesday 14th November (as per email).

Our new topic for this term is Earthquakes & Volcanoes, with the children excited to be creating their own volcano over the next few weeks. We will also be exploring the structure of a volcano, as part of this project.

On Wednesday afternoon, in celebration of Diwali, we have a company visiting the school to perform some dance workshops with the children. This should be a fun and informative way to learn about the way in which different faiths celebrate their beliefs.

Next week is also assessment week. This is for us, as teaching staff, to determine where their are gaps in learning and so offer extra support where needed. During the parents evening slots, I will be able to share with you your child’s progress – not just from the assessments but more generally across the term.

A little reminder that it is odd sock day on Monday 13th, as part of anti-bullying week, and also that it is ‘animal mufti’ on Tuesday 14th (please see the newsletter for more details).

If you need to speak to me or Mrs Minney, we are available from 8:30am most mornings or after school.
