Year Two: A wonderfully, wintry start to our weather topic!

December 19, 2023
Year 2 2023 24

What a busy start to the year we have had. We had a snow storm in the classroom this week, to launch our new topic of Wild Weather. We also looked at the weekly weather forecast to see what may happen and even spotted a snow flurry or two. The children were shocked to see a dragon had been in our classroom, which signalled the start of our new model text, Kassim and the Greedy Dragon, in our Literacy lessons. We began weekly timestables quizzes this week, which they loved and is linked to their current maths learning of multiplication and division. In Science, our focus is animals and their habitats – may be we could get in touch with Steve Backshall again? Mr McGrady from NTFC will completing fitness lessons in PE this term, so the children may be tired on a Monday!

We have the wonderful Miss Andrews from the University of Northampton joining use until the end of the Spring 2 term. She will be starting on Monday, and can’t wit to start teaching with Mrs Reeve, Miss Noble and Miss R.
