Year Five: Spring 1 update

January 23, 2024
Year 5 2023 24

Happy New Year everyone. I hope that the children have all had a well deserved, relaxing break from school and that you all have a very happy 2024. Welcome to a sparkling new term in year five. Our fabulous new history topic is Ancient Greece, which will be a real treat. Our science topic is materials, continuing on from last term, with exciting, practical investigations. We will also go on to learn about the different stages of the human life cycle. Our music lessons will centre around the song ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ by Will Smith and we will be having fun with the genre of old school hip hop. This is always a popular and lively unit.

Last term brought many successes for our year five pupils, who have all impressed me with their fantastic attitude to school and to learning. I can’t wait to see this term’s progress and achievements begin to unfold and hope that the children are looking forward to the new term as much as I am.

Please note that P.E. lessons are now on Monday and Friday. Please send P.E. kit into school on Mondays. The children will need to get changed after lunch for an afternoon P.E. lesson. The children can come to school in P.E. kits on Friday for their usual morning P.E. lesson and do not need to change back into uniform.

A quick round up of 2023 in year five.
