Year 1 2024 25

Wow, what a start! We have learnt about all the different areas in classrooms, what resources we have and how to use them. We talked about how we complete our busy jobs for our continuous provision and how to take photos using SeeSaw on the iPad!

We have already started with maths, looking at number bonds to 5. We also have started our book talk sessions, we have been asking lots of interesting questions about our poem of the week.

In our continuous provision this week we have been experimenting with sinking and floating, building our own big ben towers to measure. We have sorting objects by colour and size as well as using our phonics for reading and writing. To practise our fine motor skills, we have been linking chains together.

Our spellings for our spellings quiz are in our reading diaries so we can practice them at home, they will also be on spelling shed so we can play games to learn our spellings.
