Year 3: 19.09.24 – Rolling Stones

September 19, 2024
Year 3 2024 25

Another week of stepping back in time – we truly love the Stone Age. We have learnt about the three different periods in the Stone Age and how things changed and adapted. This was helped by us looking at different sources of evidence; primary artefacts such as, flint, bone tools and necklaces! We even had a virtual tour of the Orkney settlement, Skara Brae. We travelled to France and began learning some greetings and french culture; we also used BBC Supermovers to help us. The children love this French game on BBC Bitesize: https://www.bbc.co.uk/games/embed/dash-and-blink-french?exitGameUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fbbc.co.uk%2Fbitesize%2Farticles%2Fzyvnm39

In Maths, we compared numbers to 1,000 and focussed on 1,10 and 100 more or less. Digits and a Digestive is a real ht on a Wednesday morning too. We completed a Short Burst Write about the farmer’s day linked to the model text, The Papaya that spoke. Some wonderful diary entries were written.

We’re back in Forest School next week…photos to follow.
