Are you in the process of looking for the right primary school for your reception-aged child?

We are open for tours, please contact the office. For further information, see our admissions page.

Our After School Club runs everyday from 3.15pm until 6pm.

The club is supervised by members of staff from our school. The children receive healthy snacks and drinks and are involved in a range of exciting activities.

Pupils throughout the school have consistently good attitudes to learning and they work hard. They respect their teachers highly and say that learning is exciting.

Staff have responded positively to the much higher expectations and were quick to tell the inspector about their pride in working at Cogenhoe and about the successes they are achieving together.

Pupils wear their uniform with pride and are very supportive of each other.

Book your child's place for Forest School Easter Camp on 28th March via School Money!

At Cogenhoe School, we value and celebrate diversity and inclusion as integral to our learning throughout the year. Black History Month is a particularly important and special time for us, as we recognise the inspirational individuals and events that have shaped history. This week, the children learned about the incredible Rosa Parks and her brave stand for equality. To bring her story to life, the children recreated the famous bus where Rosa stood up for what was right. Through this hands-on activity, they began to understand the importance of courage and fairness. We also explored the inspiring life of Martin Luther King Jr. To celebrate his message, the children traced and cut out each other’s hands to create a colourful artwork symbolising Martin Luther King Jr.’ dream of kindness and equality for all.

In literacy, we introduced Little Red Riding Hood, and the children have been having a blast acting out the story with props. Their imaginations ran wild as they took on the roles of Little Red, the Wolf, and Grandma!

Over in maths, we’ve been exploring capacity and weight. One of the highlights was when the children enthusiastically debated whether a container was half-full or half-empty – the discussions were fantastic! We also had a surprising experiment where the children weighed a beach ball and a small stone. They were amazed to discover that the larger beach ball weighed much less than the tiny stone! It was a fun way for them to see that size doesn’t always determine weight.

We’ve had an exciting week full of learning, creativity, and new discoveries!
