Are you in the process of looking for the right primary school for your reception-aged child?

We are open for tours, please contact the office. For further information, see our admissions page.

Our After School Club runs everyday from 3.15pm until 6pm.

The club is supervised by members of staff from our school. The children receive healthy snacks and drinks and are involved in a range of exciting activities.

Pupils throughout the school have consistently good attitudes to learning and they work hard. They respect their teachers highly and say that learning is exciting.

Staff have responded positively to the much higher expectations and were quick to tell the inspector about their pride in working at Cogenhoe and about the successes they are achieving together.

Pupils wear their uniform with pride and are very supportive of each other.

Book your child's place for Forest School Easter Camp on 28th March via School Money!

It has been a busy term so far in year five. The class have settled down beautifully and are really impressing me with their great learning attitudes and creativity. The science topic of ‘Space’ is being enjoyed by all: we have been learning about the orbits of the planets, the phases of the moon , the earth’s rotation and the development of man’s understanding of the solar system, including the discoveries of Nicolaus Copernicus.

Our ‘Explorer’ topic has included the study of Christopher Columbus, musical composition, using untuned instruments ,of simple scores to tell the story of the ascent of Everest and the study of the achievements of Captain James Cook.

In our music lessons, we have been learning to sing and play the song ‘Make You Feel My Love’, using this as a base for improvisation and composition. In art lessons, we have been drawing detailed pictures of the moon.

The class are also impressing me with their wonderful homework- thank you so much for your support with this.

In literacy lessons, the class have been studying the structure of a warning tale, have learned how to describe settings and how to create suspense in writing. We are about to begin our hot writes and I can’t wait to read these! We are working hard on joined up writing and presentation and it is now time for me to give out the first handwriting pens.

Accelerated reader is now in full swing and the class are reading and quizzing daily. Once again, thank you for your support with this.

The great word count is on – we are waiting to see who our first word millionaires will be, so please keep reading with your child at home.

I think the class know how proud I am of their achievements so far- please encourage them to keep up the good work.
