This week, the children have been really enjoying our focus story, Owl Babies, and have been picking up new vocabulary to describe the characters’ feelings. It’s been wonderful to hear them talk about the story with such enthusiasm!
In maths, the children have used the part-part-whole model to help them understand number composition. They’ve enjoyed using this approach to explore how numbers can be made from different parts – such a great way to get them thinking about numbers in a new way!
We also took some time to think about Remembrance and created our own poppies. The children were really thoughtful as they worked on this, learning about why poppies are so special and commemorating the day in their own creative way.
The children have been exploring how different seasons bring different weather. They’ve enjoyed matching weather symbols to the clothes we wear for each season, and it’s been amazing to see them making those connections between weather, clothing, and what to wear each day!
It’s been busy week, with lots of new learning and exploration happening.
