Year 1 2024 25

Wow, another hectic week at school. This week we have spent some time rehearsing for the nativity, as well as performing to the grandparents. We were absolutely fantastic! The rest of the week we have been working very hard! We have looked at both 2D and 3D shapes in our maths lessons, discussing how many sides, faces and vertices each shape has. We did our cold write for our new model text of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff in our literacy lesson. We also got a chance to measure the rainfall over the last week with the rain gauges we made. We then discussed night and day and how the Earth spins on an axis.

In our continuous provision this week, we have had the opportunity to take a quiz the text out our 3D shape knowledge. We have then made shapes using the peg boards. To support out science learning we have decorated trees to match the different seasons. Finally, we have used our decoding skills to read look alike words.
