Over the past two weeks, we have had a busy start to the new term. We have become travellers again, but only in the virtual sense, as we have begun to explore the continent of Europe and learnt about some of the key physical features, such as: mountain ranges and rivers. Year 3 do love an atlas and Google Earth! In our Literacy unit with have moved onto a cautionary, warning story based on the model text, Grolt. For our Cold Write, we used the stimulus of Midas and his golden touch. They have already understood the importance of being kind, which linked into our Anti-Bullying Week activities, where we explored the British Values of Respect, Tolerance, Rule of Law and Liberty.
Our Maths lessons have centred on multiplication and division, which we are using on a regular basis in our arithmetic sessions. Science is focussed on light and shadow this time, sadly we have not seen much sun recently, so we are being creative with our shadow work! All of our Book Talk sessions over the past two weeks have been linked to the science topic too.
The class are doing so well on their Accelerated Reader quizzes, please ask your child what books they have quizzed on and listen to them read – they are doing so well.
