What a joyful week we’ve had! I am so proud of all the children for their amazing singing performance in the Nativity – they absolutely shone on stage.
Back in the classroom, Christmas has well and truly arrived. The children have been busy decorating and turning our room into a festive wonderland. Our Christmas-themed activities have been a big hit too!
We’ve been putting our numeracy skills to the test by matching the number of presents to the correct door and solving fun problems like: If 2 presents have been delivered, how many more are needed to make 6? The children have been fantastic little mathematicians.
In art, after learning about primary colours last week, the children moved on to discovering how to mix secondary colours. They created beautiful Kandinsky-inspired artwork, exploring colour and linking it to shapes we’ve been learning about in maths.
This week, we were also thrilled to welcome the wonderful Mr. Moffat from No Outsiders. He shared the story The Blue Chameleon, where we explored how the chameleon thought he had to change to make friends, but discovered he was already perfect just as he was.
After the story, the children created their own colourful chameleons and wrote kind words to celebrate being themselves and showing kindness to others. It was a beautiful activity that encouraged self-acceptance, empathy, and inclusion.
Well done, everyone – such a festive, creative, and heartwarming week!
