Year 1 Science Lesson: Building Greenhouses
In our recent science lesson, the Year 1 class embarked on an exciting project: building our very own greenhouses! 🌱
Why We Made Greenhouses: We learned that greenhouses create a warm and controlled environment, which helps plants grow better by protecting them from the cold and pests. This hands-on activity helped us understand how greenhouses work and why they are important for growing plants.
What We Planted: We planted carrot and onion tops inside our greenhouses. By reusing these vegetable tops, we are learning about sustainability and how plants can regrow from parts that might otherwise be thrown away.
The students had a wonderful time constructing their greenhouses and planting their carrot and onion tops. We are excited to watch our plants grow and see the results of our hard work!
