Year 1 Trip to Cogenhoe Pocket Park

Our Year 1 students had an unforgettable adventure at Cogenhoe Park! The children were very lucky to have the nature expert, Mrs. Minney, leading them on a fabulous tour of the Cogenhoe countryside.

Equipped with binoculars, the children eagerly spotted various birds, learning about their different species and habits. They also had a hands-on experience catching bugs and using magnifying glasses to observe them up close. This interactive exploration allowed the students to see the intricate details of the insects and understand their roles in the ecosystem.

Throughout the day, we discussed all things nature. From the gentle streams flowing through the park to the diverse wildlife that calls the area home, the children were immersed in the wonders of the natural world. We explored the local allotments, discovering how plants grow and the importance of sustainable gardening. The lush forests provided a perfect backdrop for learning about different types of trees and plant life.

This trip was not only educational but also a delightful way for the children to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the environment around them. A big thank you to Mrs. Minney for making this experience so special!

Stay tuned for more exciting adventures from our Year 1 students! 🌿🦋🌳
