Year Four: September 2023

September 30, 2023
Year 4 2023 24

We have had a busy few weeks back, welcoming our three new pupils as well as a new teaching assistant. Mrs Martin, who is new to Year 4, will be working with Year 4 at various times throughout the week. We also have Mrs Minney, known to all of the children, who will be in Year 4 on Tues, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

There have been a few technical difficulties with our Accelerated Reader Scheme but we are now confident that all the children will be able to use their login tomorrow. We will be allowing the children to logon and quiz on any outstanding books, as well as complete a Star reader test. Once this has been done they will be able to select a book matched with their reading level. All login details will be written in your child’s Reading Diary.

P.E. is on Wednesday and Thursday and we are lucky to have Mr Roberts from Wollaston School, along with Summer from Chance to Shine Cricket Academy, this term. However, could you please ensure your child has their P.E. kit in every day as we may have additional sessions on alternate days, depending on the weather.

Thank you for all the resources you sent in for our display. The children enjoyed making their underwater sea creatures, which you can see on the display board if you come and join us for Maths Maestro. This session is from 8:45-9am every Wednesday, where you and your child can work together on some Maths questions relating to the work we are covering in class. This allows you the opportunity to see your child’s progress and help them in any areas of difficulty. They always enjoy showing off their newly learnt skills.

Below are some resources that you might need during this term. If there is anything you are unsure about, please speak to me before or after school, or alternatively you can email me via edulink or make an appointment via the school office.
