Are you in the process of looking for the right primary school for your reception-aged child?

We are open for tours, please contact the office. For further information, see our admissions page.

Our After School Club runs everyday from 3.15pm until 6pm.

The club is supervised by members of staff from our school. The children receive healthy snacks and drinks and are involved in a range of exciting activities.

Pupils throughout the school have consistently good attitudes to learning and they work hard. They respect their teachers highly and say that learning is exciting.

Staff have responded positively to the much higher expectations and were quick to tell the inspector about their pride in working at Cogenhoe and about the successes they are achieving together.

Pupils wear their uniform with pride and are very supportive of each other.

Book your child's place for Forest School Easter Camp on 28th March via School Money!

This week in Reception, the children had an fabulous time innovating our class focus story. The story transformed The Magic Porridge Pot into The Magic Popcorn Pot! With great excitement, the children watched as popcorn magically appeared when we all said the magic words “cook, pot, cook”.  While enjoying our popcorn treat, the children got creative and came up with their own imaginative story innovations. This activity supported their learning by encouraging them to think critically and expand their vocabulary. It also helped develop their storytelling skills, fostering creativity and confidence in sharing ideas with the class.

In mathematics, we focused on measuring, comparing, and ordering objects by size. The children practiced using vocabulary such as “smallest,” “largest,” and “medium” while exploring these concepts. These activities are crucial for building their understanding of mathematical language and logical thinking, which lay the foundation for future problem-solving skills. Working with physical objects also enhanced their understanding of spatial relationships and comparison, making abstract concepts more concrete and engaging.

It’s been another fun and productive week of learning, filled with opportunities to grow in both creativity and critical thinking!

Have a wonderful weekend.
