This week, the children have had a spook-tacular time as our classroom received a Halloween makeover! They were thrilled to discover the festive decorations and themed activities awaiting them.
The children enjoyed a sensory experience with pumpkins, scooping out seeds and counting each scoop. This activity not only added to the Halloween fun but also supported their fine motor development and early Maths skills as they counted and compared quantities.
In Maths, we continued exploring repeating patterns, with the children experimenting with different items to make spooky sequences.
In Literacy, we had an exciting twist on Little Red Riding Hood, where the children innovated the story by changing the Wolf to a new character. This type of story innovation is fantastic for early learning as it boosts creativity, strengthens comprehension, and builds confidence in storytelling.
It’s been a week full of thrills, learning, and fun!
