What a week! We have had a whale of a time completing our busy jobs this week, one of which was using instructions to make our own play dough. We had to use the story dice to create silly sentences, designing our own maps for an explorer to use and use our fine motor skills to thread beads. Additionally, we have had to partition numbers into tens and ones using base ten.
We had an excellent literacy lesson this week, discussing the importance of clear and specific instructions. We practiced these skills by making jam sandwiches. In maths, we have continued to discuss tens and ones and started to use a number line to 50. In topic, we were detectives, working out what explorers from the past did, why they wanted to explore and what equipment they might need.
It was World Book Day on Thursday, we celebrated by dressing up and sharing stories together. Thursday also marked the day for the end of the Reach for the Stars reading competition.
